The Beckoner

The air was chilly and I was in no mood to try to tread through this dark hallway.  I set up my cameras and hauled tail. By the time that I got back to the van to watch for any activity, the motion sensor was already recording.  And there she was…dancing in my lens.  As I leaned in to watch her, she was pirouetting on knives and turned straight to the camera raising her arms to me almost as if to say “Come…come back.”  Transfixed, I couldn’t move and I just watched. And she…watched me.  A staring contest with this dark entity. When daylight broke, the record button was off and when I went to check the tapes…there was nothing there.  What beckoned me last night? I wish I knew…
