Greetings from Barbados!!

With everything my RL being where it is right now and after working with a wonderful organization to help raise awareness and funds for so many diseases that afflict our fellow players, I am now on a wonderful weekend getaway! Where am I?

Barbados is a coral island in the Atlantic Ocean where it meets the eastern edge of the Caribbean Sea. Much of the island is ringed by coral reefs and provide an excellent environment for snorkeling and scuba diving. The island lies on the boundary of the Caribbean and South American continental plates making Barbados unique on geological grounds. Within the core of the island, made up mainly of coral sediment, can be found numerous caves and underground lakes.

This weekend, the sisters of Eta Sigma Delta are doing a weekend long getaway on the lovely island of Barbados (courtesy of 5 Star Resort) to help raise money for Relay for Life (SL)!

Lots packed in over the next few days and I’m sure I’m going to miss a lot of stuff Sunday (tear…) because my 1st wifey is getting married and I’m going to be a bridesmaid (eeeeeee!!), but all and all a few days of rest and relaxation is truly what the doctor ordered.

Exploring & Hunting

While out and about this past weekend, I decided to head over to K.R. Engineering, makers of Greedy Greedy (pre-gaming sim style).  I blame my friends who got me hooked on Blitz and then in turn made me want to update my games. LOL

Anyway,  looking to see what new themes they had, I saw this really cute ad for a solar system theme under the group gifts corner and decided to take a look!

When I clicked on the photo, I got the notecard letting me know this really cute little diddy is only available to group member…but via a sim-wide scavenger hunt! 😮 Sufficed to say, I spent my morning flying around, trying to find them all and man am I glad I did! There’s not much to the K.R. Engineering sim aside from the store and a few pieces, but that little bit is really pretty.

After my jaunt of sim-hunting, I made it back home just in time to install the new theme and thought to myself, “you know…some might not know how the themes work; let’s make a vid.” May I never be so presumptuous as to do that again!  I hate hearing my voice recorded. Apologies for ahead of time for audio quality and rambling; my first instructional video (don’t judge).

Anyway, if you like board games like Life, Scrabble, Yahtzee, Greedy (of course) and other games, K.R. Engineering has a bevy of games that are adapted from RL and translated into gaming wonderfulness in here. And the best part is you can try before you buy!  That’s right!  All of K.R. Engineering’s games are available for actual game-play in the showroom. So bring your friends down! Try them out! Then take one (or many) home!  And fly around while you’re there…there’s even cute RL piccies of possibly the creator and his family somewhere on the grounds… 😛

Tightrope…Balance…Motivation

Some days it’s hard to balance everything and keep moving forward.  Almost feels like walking a tightrope, in a windstorm with an umbrella trying to drag you along…but ya know…BRING IT!!  Life may throw lots of curve balls and crazy at you, but keep on moving!  Let’s dance!!

Movie Night and Chillaxin w/ the Fam

Yesterday was pretty awesome! I was on a mission to find the Zaara pants as well as the bikini rare pack from the arcade and found them I did!

Then later, I got my full Chillax on with my sister Cherry and my niece Kaylee while we hung out at the zoo.  Just good times all around. And even better…I got break in my new sandals from Glamistry.  Very comfy and holy moses…the colors matched my pants perfectly! SCORE!!

A polar bear reading a newspaper…hmm…

Later we all went to the movies where we got to see the new Minions flick. It was … the awesome!!  And the only thing better than movie night w/ the fam…having no extra audiences talking through the whole thing. WOOT!

Watching my niece have a good day with her mom and spending time with them both definitely made for time well spent, laughs and giggles all around and after feeding the dogs.

So what was there left to do? Just kicked back and took in that happy sigh of contentment when you know things in [second] life just can’t get any better.
