Relax, Relate & Release…on the Nile

Shot on location at: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bazinga/13/225/2405

So after an amazing night partying with with my fellow Sorors honoring my sister Stevie’s 10th year in Second Life, we decided it was time to exhale and relax…on the Nile…

2017-02-25_020

If you have never been to The Nile  [A Second Life Relaxation Experience], it is the most wonderful experience!  For one to two hours, you get to experience yoga, tai-chi, aerobics, African dance and Indian dance. LP Kidd (same name inworld) has managed to capture a tranquil audio, visual and physical experience that will put your mind, body and soul at ease.

Be sure to dress for comfort. Since this is a relaxing experience, don’t come in jeans or anything tight…you want to be able reaaally stretch those limbs. When you land, you can also get yourself some winged armbands to become one with the experience. Step on the footprints and join the session and off you go to live and enjoy the experience of yoga on the Nile. And if you’re not quite ready to join in, there’s also a few drums available for you to sit on and join in the musical serenity.

Held once a month, this is an event you can look forward to that’s relaxing and FREE. That’s right…FREE!  If you want to know more about this event, please login and join: secondlife:///app/group/9486e007-13f7-e231-61c8-ac6616443a23/about

Oooooooooooooooom

2016-02-24 - square-2

My head has been hectic lately. My mind is sometimes a jumbled mess and I can’t piece together the chaos. Seeing the people I care about unhappy or in strife, RL woes and things out of my control can sometimes weigh so heavily that I don’t sleep, become irritable or simply cry a lot. Letting the opinions of people who are undeserving of my friendship or empathy ultimately affect my inner peace is a bad thing. I know I’m a good person. I extend kindness to others not for reward; but simply because we don’t know what anyone is going through so even something simple can change another’s day or life. I try to be patient, understanding and show empathy…even to those that are not my friends. But sometimes…sometimes, it all backfires and I’m left feeling lost, upset, off balance and that’s not good.  So…at those moments, it’s important to tune out, breathe deep and simply say Om until I can start to see clear again so I can continue my journey of peace with myself.

Movie Night and Chillaxin w/ the Fam

Yesterday was pretty awesome! I was on a mission to find the Zaara pants as well as the bikini rare pack from the arcade and found them I did!

Then later, I got my full Chillax on with my sister Cherry and my niece Kaylee while we hung out at the zoo.  Just good times all around. And even better…I got break in my new sandals from Glamistry.  Very comfy and holy moses…the colors matched my pants perfectly! SCORE!!

A polar bear reading a newspaper…hmm…

Later we all went to the movies where we got to see the new Minions flick. It was … the awesome!!  And the only thing better than movie night w/ the fam…having no extra audiences talking through the whole thing. WOOT!

2015-07-10_043

Yay for candyfloss pants that are comfy and match my shoes! *points*

Watching my niece have a good day with her mom and spending time with them both definitely made for time well spent, laughs and giggles all around and after feeding the dogs.

Comfort + style = epic win!

Comfort + style = epic win!

So what was there left to do? Just kicked back and took in that happy sigh of contentment when you know things in [second] life just can’t get any better.

Toodles gang!

Moving Day…Sunday Kind of Love

So I have to say, some days…it truly takes a village to raise a Kilo.  And today was no exception.  I was having every possible shiny moment this morning while I visited with my family.  I couldn’t remember anything I wanted to do outside of wear these shoes.  These shoes…these shoes right here (points to the picture) are the new Glamistry heels.  And they are just to die for.  What I love about his work just makes me drool. I’m seriously a fangirl for his shoes.  He has exquisite texturing and a flawless hud that is easy to use.  I’d only say maybe more color options but shooo…I can make this work, mayne! I can and I doooo… anyway back to the story (see I can’t focus for nothin! LOLOL)

So in trying to figure out what to wear with these droolworthy shoes, I found myself just having no ability to concentrate!  I would have gone around nekkid but I hear you can be sim banned for that soooo…yeah. But anyway, couldn’t find clothes because ooh more shiny objects! Ooh..web page…focus gone. Song came on? Life became a sing-a-long.  Had it not been for my niece who was busy moving into her new home this weekend with her new mom (congratulations Kaylee & Rucker!! Yayness!). I don’t think I would have managed to finally get dressed.  So sufficed to say when I did, I parked it and just enjoyed the love of my family.

2014-12-21_004

I sat and watched Kaylee place all of her furniture just so and at once point zoned out only to return to her upside down in the clothing bin (see…maybe today isn’t meant for concentrating). But they were patient while I tried to sort out a look for today.  Or maybe it was…entertained…hmm…I dunno. I just know they are patient and love me. And that’s that good kind of love right there.  It made me think of this song Sunday Kind of Love.  Not for romantic purposes but more for my family and the fact that they somehow manage to put up with my shiny moment…moments, my giggles, my rage, my quiet, my storms and everything in between. They’re all encompassing. Like that love that lasts all day, every day.  They’re my village and they have helped me become a better me.  They til my soil, cultivate the crazy yard that is my mind and who I am becoming is the fruit of their labor, their love, their arms holding me tight and loving me every day. They are my Sunday … my Sunday kind of love. And with that…a little Ella to close out the night.

Even good luck needs a bit of help to be saved…

Elephants are awesome.  Flat out AWESOME!  And on top of being awesome, they’re considered good luck in the Hindu faith and used in Feng-Shui to bring good luck to the home. As signs of wisdom, fertility and good luck (just to name a few of their awesome symbolic qualities), it’s no wonder why they’re so awesome.

I have always liked elephants. It could be from the storybook my RL mom bought for me when I was little: The Saggy, Baggy Elephant. She had purchased me the books that came with the little record and a record player so that I could listen and look at the pictures. My mom claims (and I’ll just chock it up to bias…and her being crazy as a loon…JUST KIDDING…maybe! :P) that before too long, I was reading along with the books; all of them. At 3? REALLY, MOM?!? I don’t remember this, but I do remember the book “The Saggy, Baggy Elephant“. Anyway, I remember having all sorts of stuffies (that’s stuffed animals for us older folks) here and there of everything but elephants…yet they’re the ones I adored the most of real animals (unless teddy bears count as real animals, the YOU LOSE elephant!).  I have even dressed up in Dumbo hats on Halloween (I think it’s the ears…I dunno…but does it matter? Elephants ROCK!). Anyway, one day my job was having a toy sale and lo and behold, I found not only one elephant, but an elephant and her baby (yaaaaayness)! And yup, you guessed it…I bought it. It now resides in my home and I couldn’t be happier!

Side Note on Elephants: Elephants are a symbol of good luck, wisdom, fertility and protection (just to name a few) in both the Hindu faith and used in Feng-Shui for good luck. They’re herbivores, use their ears to stay cool, their trunks to reach things that are too far (and toss water on their backs hehehe) and tend to stay near the water.  The women are called cows, the men bulls and the babies calves.  They travel in herds and it’s usually women who travel together (or with their babies) the oldest leading the herd.  Male elephants leave the herd when they’re adults and live on their own or with other males, but will come around a heard when it’s mating time (oooooh!).  They communicate using touch, sight, smell and sound (infrared & seismic for long distances) and are just all around cute! Sadly, elephants in all their beauty are being poached for their tusks (you know the pointy white, sometimes bone-colored things that poke out on either side of their trunks), which are pure ivory, something that people use for jewelry among other things. They’re also put into zoos and circuses for display and in some countries are used as work animals and/or war animals.  Also elephants…veeeeeeeery intelligent and likened to primates and whales as far as how smart they are.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), African elephants are listed as vulnerable (meaning that if circumstances that are threatening their reproduction and habits aren’t improved, they’ll be listed as endangered) and Asian elephants are already on the endangered species list. Which brings me back to the point of this post…shopping! After joygasming over several elephants I saw at Patron, my sister Dutchess found this gorgeous jewelry set from Chop Zuey called “When Elephants Dream” (seen below). But this set is special. Not only because my sister of awesome gave it to me, but because it’s going for a very special cause: to save the elephants.

This gorgeous set features exquisite texturing of a black smoothed ivory for the tusks used for both the earrings and necklace and a gold, diamond encrusted elephant as the necklace’s main feature. Set with a chain along the back to hold it in place, this necklace makes a great choker-like bauble and will be sure to class up any outfit.  And the best part???  YOU’RE SAVING ELEPHANTS BY BUYING IT AND WEARING IT!! Scooooore!

How you ask? 100% of the sales of this set (on sale until December 31, 2013) are going to the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) to help raise money for both endangered elephants all over the world.

WhenElephantsDreamWWF

Soooooooooooo if you are still picking up end-of-season gifts, or gifts of any kind or just want to treat yourself to something pretty rad AND be socially responsible at the same time, head down to Chop Zuey and pick up this amazing set. Not only will you be helping save elephants (and good luck as well), it won’t put a huge dent in your pocket!
